And even though Astrid speaks perfect English and she's been to America, had been to America many, many, many, many times.
She knew the lay of the land.
It's different when you live there.
When you live, that's your every day.
So I told this guy, I said, listen, you know, you're right now, you're the true north.
You're the stability in an ocean of instability in a hurricane.
as calm, cool, and collected about all this as possible.
There's going to be outbursts and there's going to be upheavals and there's going to be bad days and there's going to be good days and there's going to be things that she doesn't understand and things that you don't understand about her culture.
You need to make the best effort to keep your eyes open, your ears open, and be willing to understand that a little bit of her culture could make her feel so much better about her day.
They're not always โ that she's not always going to get used to everything you're doing, places you're bringing her, American customs, culture things.
She's not going to get used to that overnight.
So if she goes somewhere and it looks like maybe she's not having fun, she's not tuned in, she doesn't understand, whatever, you're her guide, number one.
Like maybe that's โ it's just going to take a couple times or whatever.
