So when I was in Iraq as a contract firefighter, I was in Baghdad between 2009 and 2010.
And I was over there for 15 months.
I was on the big base for most of my time there.
I was on the victory base complex, which encompassed the Baghdad International Airport.
as well as a lot of space.
It was a very, very big base.
And anyway, you would get the Armed Forces Network as part of your TV, which is very interesting to watch AFN
And they had the Olympics.
And the Winter Olympics came around while I was over there.
I guess that would have been 2010.
The Olympics came around.
And so curling was on.
And we all would go to what they called the DFAC, which was the chow hall, three times a day.
But it was three quarters of a mile one way.
It was like, what exactly next door?
You're always walking to and from in Baghdad, right?
So anyway, we go eat there.
And it was like, ah, curling or whatever.
Well, cut to like two days later.
