If you want rewind and you were in, you were working at that time, you probably remember a lot more people talking about ML than you necessarily knew AI.
And of course, we're sort of in a different place now, but that's the way everybody would talk about it.
And you would hear them say, like, I saw somebody was able to get
their data to go do the next thing for them.
And essentially what they're doing is they're describing this fourth tier.
So let's just look at these four tiers, descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive.
That was the MLN, the prescriptive.
That's where everybody wanted to be.
But oftentimes, people were way back at descriptive, meaning that if we look at these four phases and they increase from left to right, they increase in value, but they also increase in complexity on the scale.
Descriptive is what most people know of data, which is to say, what happened?
And by just saying what, you know that means that it's in the past.
Something already occurred.
I'm looking at the data.
What occurred?
Descriptive.
Then you have diagnostic, which is more like why it's happening.
Hey, I see that that happened.
What in the hell is going on?
Why is that happening?
Why is my cost per lead skyrocketing?
