The Japanese word Sakana primarily means fish, a general term for all fish.

Historically, Sakana also references referred to snacks or side dishes.

I think we could assume it means fish.

For whatever reason, they decided to name the company Sakana AI.

I don't know if there's a deeper meaning there, but now that obviously makes sense because when you look at their name,

They're cool thumbnails, which are all cartoonish.

They're very cool.

I like them.

I just like the style of them.

They're different.

They're unique.

But they almost always have some sort of robotic fish with glasses on doing work and stuff like that.

Just another reason.

We kind of fanboy a little bit on Sakana, I think, but for good reason.

They're doing really cool stuff, and they're one of the ones that you can just see pushing AI forward, not sitting back in the chair and going, well, look at all this stuff.

They always seem to be thinking differently about things, so I love reading their blogs, even when they're older than me.

It validates us, because as we've said, we know that all the great players listen to the show.

And I think what it's saying is, you know, there's people at DeepMind and Google listening, and they're like, listen, I don't know how many times we have to listen to the day I show Das Crew talk about Sakana before we move on this.

Somebody else wouldn't move on this.
