And in that time I served in Northern Ireland.
Again, for those that wouldn't be aware, but Northern Ireland was an area of conflict where the British military would go over.
Well, the American Marines, just the USMC, you know, they're very good and I... You don't just fall into being a US Marine, but the Royal Marines is... It's got the longest basic training in the world.
You train for nine months to get there at any point in time.
Um...
at any point in time, if you fail a task, some of them you get given another go, but mostly you've done.
So for nine months, you can't get injured.
Think about that.
For nine months, you can't get injured and you do all manner of things as you might imagine.
And it's all high impact and it's all long distances.
If you twist an ankle, break a leg, shin splints, pull a calf, you're gone.
You're finished.
So for nine months, you're taken to a point of exhaustion.
At the end of that nine months, you've got to pass four commando tests.
And each one of these tests are just...
It's ridiculously hard, but you get to that point where you've got to do the test exhausted.
Your body's wrecked.
You've got nothing left.
Every part of your body's got blisters on it.
You've lost that much weight.
