So many phrases...
at face value mean one thing, but really mean something else culturally.
Like when you go to a Chinese person's house, they might say when you walk in the door, which means, have you eaten?
But really, that's just saying hi.
Like they might not say, hey, how are you?
They'll say, have you eaten?
You learn that from being in the culture.
You don't necessarily learn that from technology.
This is not to say I'm totally anti-tech, though, when it comes to languages or language learning.
I have vocabulary apps, YouTube tutorials.
I watch a lot of those.
Zoom dates with native speakers.
All those things can be helpful for language learning, according to Luke.
All input in the second language is good input.
