You sell that to kids, and I'm like, it's Game of Thrones for 10-year-olds with cats.
It is a bonkers, balls-to-the-wall fantasy series dressed up as a bunch of warring wildcats.
And as a kid, that definitely changed fundamental things about the way I looked at stories.
And also probably my relationship with my house cats.
But I was like, wow, they're such a delightful inner world.

The hook at which I started writing it is the idea of two kingdoms who were trapped in like an eternal war because of this prophecy that was said a very long time ago.
But the prophet who spoke the words never spoke the words to end the prophecy.
So it's been a very long time of conflict and no one really knows how to get their way out.
