and honestly i've been pretty high maintenance and fussy since birth so i was not up for the gutturalness of the language i wouldn't say i was like deeply invested in the second grade and learning dutch um you've always been fancy oh it's been fancy nancy yes yes my parents tell the story when we moved to holland i had this whole outfit on i was moving to a new school in the middle of the school year like a little plaid skirt and matching beret the shoes matched and this kid in my class told our teacher in front of my parents oh we have ourselves a real california babe
