He was very good at what he does, and there was a chance that if they could convince the jury that there was some doubt, because like you said, it's largely circumstantial.
There is no person that saw what happened.
He admits he had his hand on the trigger, so the DNA is irrelevant.
So there was definitely evidence
concern.
