Welcome back.
Today's meditation is going to be slightly different.
It's a reminder to us that we can bring meditative awareness with us wherever we go, whatever we're doing.
There might be times when it's difficult to find sitting meditation possible, perhaps in the midst of a very busy day, or perhaps simply because we don't have the space.
But the meditative tradition always teaches that meditation is possible.
And one of the ways in which we can take a moment to dwell in this interior stillness is simply by entering the moment, whatever the moment is, consciously and with awareness.
So today we're going to practice a standing meditation.
This is something you can do when standing in a queue or waiting for a bus or simply in those in-between moments when you're waiting for an activity to start.
So let's begin.
Today as we enter meditation,
I invite you to remain standing.
Find a position that's comfortable to stand in.
If you're someone who finds balance a little difficult, one of the ways in which you can stabilize yourself for this meditation is to stand behind a chair and just simply place your hands on the back of the chair.
This will give you stability, particularly if you're going to close your eyes during the meditation.
Take a moment to just stand as you usually do.
Most of us find that we put slightly more weight on one side than the other.
We favor one side over the other.
There's nothing wrong with this.
It's simply how human beings stand.
So just notice for yourself in case you haven't noticed before.
