And, you know, I remember a few games in my first year where he was kicking forward to win us the game and everything like that.
So he can go into the midfield and have 10 touches in the last quarter to win you the game.
So he's a pretty special player.
Toby, what does the Sir Doug Nicholls round mean to you, mate?
Yeah, obviously, like I said, coming from Fitzroy Crossing, a little small remote community where my culture is extremely, I guess, strong there.
We're extremely proud to be who we are there as well.
So to be able to play AFL football and play on the main stage in Australia, it means a lot to be able to represent my culture, my family back there.
They're always watching and they're always very proud of me.
So I always try and play my best football for them as well.
Well said.
That is fantastic.
Bill, it's absolutely brilliant.
We've had Lewis Cheddar on in Perth last week and we were talking to him about the Noongar β
People down the south of Western Australia and the extraordinary influence they've had on Aboriginal footballers.
I think, Toby, it is along with, you know, now we've got the African influence, we've got the amazing Irish people, we've got this multicultural thing about AFL footy, but it's all been led by our Indigenous footballers.
It's just brilliant.
Yeah, it's great, it's great.
Hopefully we can continue to go the numbers as well for us and also, you know, like you said, the Africans, boys that are starting to play, we've got a few in our team and, you know, their superstar's kind of hard and just had an unbelievable smother, you know, probably saved us the game as well.
So if we're able to inspire those boys, not only indigenous as well, and play the game, it's only going to make the game better and more exciting to watch.
Yeah, that's what we'll try and do.
