Don't give it a physical body.
There's a mental exercise for, I don't know how you describe it.
It's for awareness.
It's very similar to what you described.
To understand yourself, and I read this in a book 30 years ago, 20 years ago.
The first thing you want to be doing in any situation is be aware of yourself.
You.
What do you think?
What do you feel?
Are you hungry?
Are you tired?
Actually ask these questions of yourself to develop a sense of presence.
That is, are you in a work environment you don't like?
Are you just tolerating this?
Is this going to be beneficial for you in the long run?
The next thing you want to do is in your interactions with others, imagine you are standing off to the side watching that interaction happen.
As you talk to someone else about something going on, imagine you're a third party watching two people talk to each other.
How do you feel about the person to your left or the person to your right?
That exercise is basically like, are you weak?
Are you strong?
