Calgary's been winning a little bit.
There is a chance, Noodles, they could still finish maybe fourth, fifth from the bottom if they lose out.
But if they pick up another three or four points...
They're sixth from the bottom, seventh, and they're risking handing over.
It just feels like they either win the lottery or it's the sixth pick they hand over to Boston.
That's the fork in the road.
Yeah, it's one or the other.
It's either the best outcome or the worst possible outcome.
There's no middle ground.
Well, the reality is if they keep their pick this year โ
The next two drafts, they're going to Boston and Philly unprotected.
And that does have the potential to be the worst possible outcome.
Like where if they end up with the first overall pick and the next McDavid arrives in two years...
it will be a shock to the system of this market that I don't know they could recover from.
It would be that disturbing because by then you would realize this wasn't just a blip in the radar, wasn't just an off-year Olympics, got old, what are you going to do, bad coach, didn't work.
If they're still awful in two years to the point where the first overall pick is going to Philly, then it's...
it's going to be as dark as you could possibly get.
I couldn't imagine anything as dark.
Honestly, it's not hyperbole.
If this is the beginning of them being the worst team in the league and they don't have their first overall picks, it's just going to be sickening.
