Very excited to be here.
I'd probably say like putting that much money on the line would be the biggest fear.
There's one thing because it was our own home that, you know, you have that emotional side of it and things like that.
But I'd say, yeah, the biggest fear is putting all your hard-earned savings into something and worrying it's not actually going to be as good when you're living in it.
So it's nice, cute, small size, perfect size for like a first home.
Yeah, I think just putting that deposit down.
into something and not knowing if this would be like there's so many things like the building and pest inspection and hearing their report and if that's all going well and sort of taking
the run with it and being like is this a place that we want to live in essentially but what ended up being okay with it was actually just trusting our gut um it was actually doing a lot of research as well into where we were going so that we knew it was a space that would work for us and for um our needs which at the moment we know we don't have kids we just got a little cat and and it was sort of looking at not only what the space was
and I guess the price point and what we could borrow but it was also looking at you know where are we wanting to live we bought in a suburb that we didn't live before we're both not originally from the area that we bought in um we went to uni here so we knew little about the suburbs that was a little bit of a trade-off but yeah it ended up working it worked for
out really fine.
It was a case of just sort of, we went to cafes after looking at the place and vouching out the area a little bit.
And I think a lot of that just came with just trusting the process.
I'd actually heard about it from the This Is Property podcast as well, the 5% deposit scheme.
We'd originally looked in as well to having parental guarantors.
My parents didn't so much have the equity, his parents did.
It wasn't something they were comfortable with, which is totally fine.
So we crossed that out.
And yeah, originally we thought we wouldn't be eligible for the 5% deposit scheme because we did have close to or around the 10% to put down.
but thankfully they did account for that being I guess a buffer and an emergency fund and that was really great so stepping into our property I think that was another big fear of ours that when we went into something we'd have to put all our money in and then an emergency would come up and we'd be out of cash that wasn't the case for us thankfully we were able to keep that money aside pop it straight on the offset
And yeah, that made us feel a lot more comfortable going into the buying process too.
