Lauren, welcome to the show.
I think there's like a trope about sexually transmitted infections running amok in old folks' homes.
How true is that?
Is this an age group that are particularly at risk here?
Are we failing this generation by not having sort of honest conversations about sexual health and protection later in life?
Like, I think that generation is desexualized, as we talked about before the break.
We pretend they don't have sex, but they do, about as much as us.
What is the reason for this?
If someone a little bit older is listening right now and there's someone who gets busy, any advice for them?
For me, it's just like condoms.
Is there more to it than that?
We're talking about sex into older age, and I want to shift the conversation here a bit.
As I age, I'm 39, I feel a lot freer in life.
Like I have less anxieties, less body image issues.
I care less about what people think.
When you interview people about sex into old age, or maybe you can just speak to this generally,
Was there a sense of being freer like like sex in your 60s sex in your 70s like I don't really care what people think I'm just in it to have fun and for pleasure and and in some sense it's like better than it was when you were younger.
So it's kind of both.
Some people feel more hesitant.
Others feel more free.
