Now they weren't from the area, but they went to school in the area and they were like, if you want to get far in this organisation, you're going to have to change that accent.
And I remember thinking like, that is scandalous.
I was performing well and I had people, I had managers and I ended up standing over what I was doing.
They could trust me.
And I just thought like, this is such a backwards approach.
I since left that job and the company I'm working for now, they couldn't give like two hoots where I'm from.
They don't care who I am or where I'm from.
They just care about the work I do.
You know what I mean?
And that to me, that's how it should be.
You should be in somewhere on merit.
Yeah, because I think that's an Irish thing.
Not necessarily where we're from, like in a walking class in a city, Dublin.

Like I always give the example, if you knew somebody who just turned professional in boxing and they were in the US and they were like, I'm going to be the champion of the world.
You'd be like, yeah, yeah, you are.
But if you see an Irish person doing that and he says, what's our goal and mission?
Like, I'm going to be the champion of the world.
You'd be like, all right, relax there.
