Or it might always bring you something that you wanted to see just for the sake of that because you know you like this thing or you need it somehow.
And then sometimes it is useful, but it's just about being reminded, I think.
It's about being reminded to be brave and push things and to be excited, really.
I think that's a very difficult thing to do.
I remember people used to always watch videos for two seconds and they could only have a three minute video in a gallery.
Whereas now people will sit for hours watching a film and they won't look at a painting.
And, you know, I don't expect that anyone should want to look at my work really.
There's no reason for them to do that.
unless you know something piques their interest and it's about daring people in a way or trying to sort of entice them on some level maybe and entice myself as well you know to to try and make something that you want to get further into or that you don't even understand you know I love it when I look at a painting that I made years ago and I think how did I do that I don't understand it you know but I think they have to give you that space and that longevity otherwise what's the point really
It's an image from, and I can't again remember where it is, but a very old photo I found.
And it's just paintings displayed and almost like a sort of before Lino Bobardi in a way.

lovely brass railings around them, but sort of standing up on some sort of blocks or hung from the ceiling in a way.
And I found that quite exciting.
I'd never seen that in an old picture.
I mean, I love the Lino Bobardi display in Sao Paulo.
And again, I've hung paintings myself, but mostly to obliterate views or to clash things together or to make the viewer have to walk around them to see the rest of the work.
And it's taking it somewhere else in a way, making this very light space.
