It's just another layer of protection.
They're also going to include a feature that when you tag something, so you see a photo, it's non-consensual, it's explicit, you click on the three dots, you flag it to remove it, and then it will then, in its index,
If someone else searches for it or their other matches, if similar imagery shows up in Google's index, you'll be notified.
And so there's automation then that also protects you going forward.
It's not just that specific image data.
It's others.
And so I think it recognizes that the internet's a very dangerous place.
Search is a very powerful way to victimize other people.
And Google is finally stepping up.
and ensuring that its platform, at the very least, can't be weaponized.
Of course, it means that as a victim, you have to take that step.
If you don't initiate that takedown request in Google's interface, nothing happens.
And so it's not going to happen automatically.
There's still some homework for victims to do, but at least now they have tools to do that.
Yeah, who knew?
So yeah, smart watches, smart rings, smart doorbells, all sorts of smart home appliances, thermostats.
They're being used, and this organization is called Refuge.
It's a British charity.
They're being used to stalk, surveil, and control victims.
And the numbers are actually scary.
