Each astronaut has been issued what's called a PCD or a personal computing device.
Basically, it's a Surface Pro tablet that is, of course, a Microsoft device, so it has Microsoft software on it.
And just after they got into orbit on the first day of the mission, Reid Wiseman, who's the commander, said his PCD, his Outlook, wasn't working.
And so Mission Control said, look, we'll remotely take it over.
They can do that.
Kind of like tech support here on Earth, but I'm guessing a little higher tech.
and they were able to reload the software and get it working again.
So they rebooted it, reloaded it, and everything seems fine.
But I think this is a reminder, their Outlook works differently than ours.
They don't have a persistent connection to Earth, so it gets synced periodically.
And I'm guessing at one point the syncing
didn't work, which considering the complexities of internet in space, I'm willing to give them a bit of a pass.
So maybe this wasn't just Microsoft's problem or Outlook's fault.
Maybe it's the fact that it's Outlook flying through space at 25,000 miles an hour.
But if you're looking for another excuse to not use Outlook and maybe pick another email package,
This is probably it, because obviously Microsoft not very happy about this.
Their shares went down after this story broke.
Good to be with you.
Yeah, I mean, another day, another example of AI being used or misused in ways we probably wish people wouldn't.
And so in this case, it's individuals who want to come to Canada as a refugee, and they're submitting their applications for asylum, but they're using AI to generate them.
