And in terms of the initial reviews anyway are...
This thing, at least at a basic level, if you set your expectations right, in other words, if you're not producing video and you're just using it for light work, it's actually not that bad.
And it isn't the penalty box that an equivalent cheap Windows laptop would be, because a lot of those Windows laptops are terrible as well.
And so the question is, does it meet that minimum?
And at least initial reviews indicate that, yeah, it certainly does.
Yeah, it was the right price and it was the wrong technology.
They simply made too many compromises to hit that price point.
Whereas with Apple, they have made compromises, but it doesn't seem to hobble the work experience.
And so the machine is good enough.
You're not going to be sitting there twiddling your thumbs in frustration, waiting for it to catch up.
Even with 8 gigs of RAM, even with this so-called A18 Pro chip, which is essentially a mobile chip, highly efficient, but not terribly powerful.
It's good enough for most day-to-day applications, as well as Apple intelligence, which is what Apple wants all of its devices to support.
I think that's the kind of the key sort of win here is that this is a full version of Mac OS.
And so it's as it runs on a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro, it's the same OS on the MacBook Neo as well.
And no compromises there.
So if you want to download your own software from the web or go to the app store or build your own, you absolutely can.
It might just run a little bit slower because the hardware is a little less robust than what you would find on an Air or a Pro.
I like that.
