Good morning and welcome to the Morning Brew where we start our day inspired.

Today I want to start with this reflection.

You are not behind in life.

You're just comparing your path to people you don't even want to be.

That one lands a little, doesn't it?

Because if we are honest, we compare all the time without even thinking.

We scroll for a few minutes and suddenly someone is further ahead.

Someone is doing more.

Someone seems more clear, more successful, more put together than us.

And just like that,

your own life starts to feel behind.

Here's the thing.

Comparison is human.

We all do it, but it's not neutral because most of the time you're not comparing full lives.

You're comparing your real life with someone else's highlights, your current chapter with someone else's middle or peak of their journey, your values with someone else's priorities.

And the part we don't talk enough about is that sometimes you're comparing yourself to people you wouldn't actually want to trade lives with.

This is a question that really changed things for me.

Do I actually want their life or just what I think it represents?

Because it's easy to admire the outcome, the title, the body, the lifestyle, the visibility.

But that outcome comes with choices, with trade-offs, with priorities, with ways of living that might not align with yours or mine's.
