Because I don't think we do that enough.
We're so focused on what's next that we rarely pause to acknowledge what already has happened.
Most of us live our lives looking forward at the next goal, at the next level, at the next version of ourselves.
We measure our progress by how far we still have to go.
And that gap between where you are and where you want to be
can be really big, big enough to make you question, am I doing enough?
Why is this taking so long?
Or what am I missing?
And if you stay in that space too long, it starts to feel like you're stuck, like nothing is really changing.
But there is another gap, the one behind us.
And we don't look at that one nearly enough because it's not urgent.
It doesn't push you.
It doesn't demand anything of you.
It just quietly holds evidence, evidence of who you used to be, what used to feel hard, what you've already moved through.
