What are the things that are high energy required?
That means tasks that need you to feel at your best.
like deep work, decisions, difficult conversations.
Then they are the medium energy required tasks.
These are meetings, collaboration, execution tasks.
And then the low energy required, that can be emails, light tasks, admin work.
Step number four, design around what you learn.
This is where it gets really practical.
Once you know what energizes you and what drains you, you can redesign your days differently.
Here's what I personally do.
I schedule energizing activities before high drain activities.
If I have a tough meeting at 2 p.m., I make sure I do something energizing at 1 p.m.
I batch draining activities together.
So I only have to recover once.
So instead of having a draining activity and then an energizing activity and then another draining activity and then an energizing activity, what I do is I consolidate all those draining tasks into one block and then I schedule a recovery block.
I also protect my high energy time for my high energy required tasks.
I don't waste my best thinking hours on emails or admin work.
I use my clearest, sharpest time to work on what matters most.
I also build energizing activities into every single day, not just on the weekends.
That can be walking, movement, creative work, anything that fills up your cup.
