But I guess when it comes to businesses, it is a cost of doing business, isn't it?
Trying to navigate your way through
the taxation arrangements and try to make sure you're utilising the incentives that are there to make sure that you're making the business as profitable as it can be, first of all, and that you're not paying any tax that you shouldn't be paying.
Do you get the impression from business leaders, though, that they're overall pretty happy or is it still a case of them trying to work through what this is going to mean for their individual businesses and try and work out where they might be getting hurt a little bit versus where they're going to be receiving some benefit?
They're always substantial documents, budgets.
This one is particularly important because there are so many changes in it.
And there are a whole bunch of winners and losers throughout, obviously.
A lot of this stuff was well thought
leaked ahead of the budget.
We knew, for example, the government was going to be looking for massive savings when it comes to the NDIS.
We knew that it was spending more money on fuel security, something we talked about at length on FuelCast, and also about the EV, the electric vehicle discounts, being wound back, at least in the future.
They haven't been wound back entirely, but it does look like the government thinks we're getting to a point where EVs will stack up on their own.
