Great title, Liz.
I love it.
Now, both you and Bernard have careers that connect you with universities and writing projects.
Why don't we start with you, Bernard?
In 2006, you founded The Writing Workshop.
What is it and how does it work?
Oh, wow.
That's amazing.
So do you do those examples or those exercises where you have like a first sentence and then you have to go from there like, oh, my goodness, is that the time she said?
And then the person, the kids have to write on from there.
Wow.
So you're just seeing raw creativity.
TM.
Now, Liz, your latest novel, A Month of Sundays, it's about four women who come together in a book club, which kind of helps tell the story of their lives to each other.
Is any blood spilt in this book club?
I mean, metaphorically.
Yeah, I've always thought of the short story collection as really a de facto novel.
I mean, why would all those stories be together if they didn't have some kind of connection?
It's like an album.
Why would all the songs be together if they weren't somehow a work in a larger structure, even if it doesn't conform to ideas of a novel that we might have conventionally?
