Like I said earlier, I don't want to send them after innocent people.
But there was just certain things, circumstantial things about him and about his life that made it too compelling not to pass it on.
So when they told me it was a match, it was just tremendous.
Oh, yeah.
I did a lot of research, as I always do, when I have identified a potential person of interest.
I dig through social media, through newspaper articles, through the traditional genealogical records.
I use all types of different resources to learn about someone before I turn their name over.
I write a really complete report with a lot of information for law enforcement in my cases.
So he got married?
He had kids?
He had three kids?
At the same time that Lindy was a newlywed.
They both were.
Yeah, it definitely seems like we're identifying a new type of criminal with investigative genetic genealogy.
We see so many of these cases where there's
individual seems to have perpetrated one really horrible, violent crime and then gone on with their lives.
And that's why they're cold cases, right?
They were never arrested for another crime.
They never got their DNA in the system.
These are people that were never on law enforcement's radar at all.
