Well, first of all, let me say I went down to the scene of the explosion this morning and the wreckage, the mangled wreckage of the car is still there, hasn't been taken away.
Investigators say that early this morning, just before seven o'clock local time, a bomb which had been concealed under the vehicle was detonated.
Lieutenant General Faneel Salavaro was inside the car.
He was badly wounded.
He later died.
of his injuries.
And this is the third Russian general to have been killed in the last 12 months.
So we're getting used to hearing things like this happening.
So to an extent, a sense of shock.
However, as I say, these attacks have happened before.
And we're now almost four years into Russia's war in Ukraine.
And in a sense, the war sort of come to the Russian capital.
I mean, assuming it really is Ukraine behind this, is this an attempt to do some damage to the Russian military?
Are these generals really quite important?
