Yeah, they would have run an election against him, but he would have also run an election against Trump.

Why?

Because it isn't that Bernie's magical.

It's that the American people want populism.

They don't want you to represent the donor class and they could feel it in their bones, right?

So guys, forget MAGA, forget our own voters for a second.

We have to win over independents.

They decide elections.

If you're not trying to win over independents and you're just preaching to the choir, it's self-indulgent.

Like, I love you and everybody can do everything that they want.

I'm just saying generically to the other hosts, audience, et cetera, right?

It's a free country.

But if you want to win and you care about that, you've got to win over the independents that are enormously populist,

They don't want corrupt politicians.

They want people representing the average American, and that is super fair.

We're immigrants.
