As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority Black city in which there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslaved people.

Listen, not only did they get off to a fast start under Joe, I've never seen them play like this.

They were moving quick.

I saw a little Jogo Benito, obviously, in the beginning.

Something I've really never seen from the U.S.

players as well.

And they seized the moment.

This is what it's about.

In games like this, the first game, you always want to seize the moment.

And it did just that.

They didn't play down to the competition.

They played extremely well.

They attacked very well.

And there really wasn't any threat on the defense end as far as the back line, our right back, our left backs.

You know, they attacked.

They were very aggressive.

And when they were attacking,

players made sure to cover their positions while they were attacking because at that time, we're vulnerable based on who we're playing.
