And he's right.
We do something that hopefully takes away the weights of the world for people for three hours a night.
We let them get away from the trouble they have at home or their bosses driving them nuts or how they afford Christmas presents or, you know, the economy or whatever the hell is going on around the world.
For three hours, we're going to escape.
At least we should be.
And hopefully we can bring some levity and some information.
We're there to inform and entertain people.
And I think we do a really good job of that.
And that's the job.
And being able to do that for a fan base as passionate as the Cardinals, growing up in that environment and understanding how the fans think and admire and respect their players, to be welcomed by those players and by the front office and the DeWitt family is incredibly humbling.
And I pinch myself every day when I pull up to that ballpark and say, wow, I never, ever in my wildest dreams imagined
that I would, first of all, be a broadcaster, much less the broadcaster for the Cardinals.
And, you know, the fates intervened and here I am.
And I might change some of the circumstances about which this came about, but I don't second guess or would never wish away the end result, which is me being there because it really has changed my life.
It's changed the way I look about my job.
It's rekindled the excitement and passion that I used to have and was taken away in some ways in my previous stop.
Right timing, right person, right place, and here we are.
Yeah, I've been lucky.
I've worked for the Braves.
I've worked for the Cubs, the Mariners, and the Cardinals.
