There's, I guess, pretty privileged, for lack of a better word, when people see someone that has a hidden disability and then on the surface doesn't appear disabled, there's immediately assumptions there.
People make assumptions about everyone, but I think the assumptions that when it comes to me, because of what I look like, because of how I present myself, because of how I dress, and also because of what I've been able to do with my life, people assume that I must have...
low support needs and they assume that I must not struggle.
And that's not true.
I have a lot of support.
I have consistent ongoing support.
That's why I'm able to achieve what I'm able to achieve because my support needs are being met.
With that being said, there will be days where I'm doing TED Talks and doing podcasts.
Yeah, like today.
Like today and, you know, filming Netflix shows.
But like my husband will tell you more than anyone that like as soon as I leave this room, I am probably not going to speak for the rest of the day.
He's going to have to cook and look after me completely, making sure that I'm drinking.
He has to shower me sometimes.
He has to dress me sometimes.
My capacity to exist fluctuates so, so greatly depending on so many factors, both internal and external.
And you've also got it tattooed.
