So, yeah, so I was in my mid-20s and my dad was a financial advisor and the recession hit in the early 90s.
And he didn't tell anybody that he was struggling, but he ended up going bankrupt.
Now, as I said earlier on, my dad was from a fairly working class background.
His father had been a road sweeper.
So when my dad did okay for himself, he went down the external self-worth route.
He bought himself a Jaguar, admittedly quite an old secondhand one, but it was a big deal for him.
We had a SodaStream, which I can tell you, in the 80s, that was quite the thing, a SodaStream.
Is that like an indoor vending machine?
No, it fizzes up.
Makes fizzy drinks.
Puts the carbonated thing in there.
Oh, you stick the bottle in.
You press the button and it puts air.
It puts the bubbles in.
But you can also put Coke syrup in and all that kind of stuff.
Or a bottle of vodka.
Fizzy vodka, mate.
Don't do that.
He's a man of class.
Yeah, when I was 13, and probably that wasn't the first thing we went to.
