The big story around here, and I think nationally, was Phelps getting thrown out of the Georgia game.
It was called a standard ejection, which means an umpire didn't even meet with a pool reporter.
There's no such thing as a standard ejection.
It's the stupidest two-word phrase of all time.
If a guy gets ejected, an umpire should have to tell you why.
If it was celebrating, say it was celebrating.
If it was taunting, say it was taunting.
The idea that it wasn't even solved...
through yesterday and into today, and nobody really knows what he was thrown out for is ridiculous.
The fact that he's going to miss the first game of the Super Regional is the biggest problem.
That does not seem to be punishment and crime, sort of meeting up and people being satisfied.
And I'm not saying it just as a guy who lives in the state of Georgia.
I don't understand how, without physical contact with somebody, how you can get ejected and just not be the end of it.
The fact that you're going to have to sit out a game really doesn't make any sense.
