How would you compare the uniqueness of Victor Wimbinyama to the uniqueness of Dirk?
So for Dirk, Dirk was truly unique because a seven-footer that could shoot the ball as well as he did in that time frame was considered unique.
It's not like it is now.
It's not like every team had all these stretch forwards.
And then Dirk was unique in he developed β
And so when you develop that type of thing, that makes you truly unique.
So in that aspect, Dirk was unique, similar to Wimby, seven feet, unique skill set.
But what makes Wimby that guy?
is, man, what he does defensively.
And it's only year three.
We've never seen nobody like that.
He shuts down the lane.
I have never seen so many guards run into the lane, see a player, say, no, I'm going to go that way.
And that's what he does.
A lot of coaches that I've talked to say to their teams in pregame meetings,
when you go to the paint, don't expect to shoot.
It's driving kick.
That's why you're going to the basket.
You're not looking to get a shot off because he's going to be there.
I mean, his ability to not just contest the first shot, but go after the second one as well.
