But there were a lot of teams that were saying, I hope that we pick third or I hope that we pick fourth so that some of these decisions are made for us and we can go to that next best guy and feel like, all right, well, at least the pressure, there's not as much pressure in that regard.
But, you know, we've now didn't have to make that decision that we felt maybe pressured into because that does factor in, you know, fan expectations, other things like that.
You know, there can be a real pressure.
you know, opportunity for GMs to fall into that a little bit.
And then, you know, if it doesn't work out, that's when you start saying, okay, well, I didn't go with the guy that everybody wanted me to go with.
And now that didn't work out.
And that usually means you're out of a job.
You know, I'm just not sure that it's ever been all that large.
I think it really tightened around the World Juniors, and I feel like
it kind of stayed that way because even though McKenna had more points in the second half of the season, a lot of the way he was playing was exactly the same as the first half.
Like I didn't buy, like, like a lot of people, like, Oh, he played so much better in the second half.
I was like, no, he had more points in the second half.
That's a different thing.
And so, you know, that's, that's the kind of thing where, you know, Stenberg, because he was kind of faltering a little bit,
Yeah, you're starting to say, oh, well, nobody's really seized the mantle and nobody took it from McKenna.
But, you know, the interesting thing is all of this is happening in the background.
Caleb Malhotra is having a dominant postseason in the OHL.
You know, it ends up ending sooner than anybody in Brantford wanted it to.
But he was a driver on one of the best junior hockey teams in Canada.
And so.
