Well, you have the Ebionites that denied that Jesus was divine and they claimed that he was only like a human prophet.
You had the Gnostics that denied that.

He's like, hey, look, if there's no resurrection from the dead, Paul says, then guess what?
Then Christ wasn't raised from the dead.
And if Christ wasn't raised from the dead, then you're dead in your sins.
And if you're still dead in your sins, then those who have fallen asleep, they're just dead.
And if we only have hope for this life, he says, we're to be pitied more than all men.
So the center of the whole thing is, one, that Christ took on a body.
