I hope I'm wrong.
I hope sooner than later we get an alert that Freddie Peralta is a Yankee, but they didn't like the prices on Edward Cabrera, who can't stay healthy.
You think you're going to like the prices on a guy like Freddie Peralta, even though he only makes $8 million and he pitches like an ace?
Then you look at it from Cody Bellinger's point of view.
What do you got out there?
If it was always about seven years, then you should be a Yankee because the Yankees are going to get you closer to seven years than anybody.
And they're allowing you to exit the contract early.
So if Cody Bellinger goes out there and he signs a short-term deal with the Dodgers or the Mets because the Mets are still sniffing around them, but reportedly not going near the five years the Yankees are offering, so if it was only about the years...
and you sign for the Mets for, let's say, three for 120, then you're a fucking loser.
And I, you know what, and I love Cody, but you're just a loser, bro.
So it was never about the years.
If you're sitting there saying, oh, I got to get seven years to sign, and then the Mets come along and offer you 40 per for three years, then it wasn't about the years.
You're playing this frigging game with the Yankees that maybe we could have ended the charade months.
Like I said, we're less than four weeks away from spring training.
We could have ended the charade a month ago, and maybe the Yankees could have been a little bit more creative in the trade market, or they could have maybe pursued a guy like Bo Bichette seriously.
Because after Bichette went to the Mets, then you hear, you know, the YPM, the Yankee propaganda machine spin and said, oh, you know, they didn't really like him defensively at shortstop.
Well, nobody's asking him to play shortstop.
The team that just signed him is not even asking him to play shortstop.
There are a lot of ways to go with Bo Bichette as a Yankee.
You don't like Ryan McMahon at third base?
