So whatever that was,

Had a great postseason going all the way to the World Series, over 800 OPS, and that allowed me to say, okay, let's see what he's got in another full year.

And now they're using the shoulder injury as a reason why he had another sub 690 OPS.

Well, you can't have an excuse for every year.

And if the shoulder was the reason for 2025, then explain 2024 in 2023.

Okay?

That's just what it is.

And for all the Volpe defenders out there, I don't hate Anthony Volpe.

I think I've said this numerous times on this show.

I think I said it on NYU on Thursday.

And I'll reiterate it one more time.

I don't hate him.

I'm an Italian kid from New Jersey.

You don't think that I'm rooting for another Italian kid from New Jersey to make it on my favorite baseball team?

Who would I rather root for more than an Italian kid from New Jersey as an Italian kid from New Jersey to be the franchise shortstop for the New York Yankees?

But I'm not going to be disingenuous about it.
