I know we've been very tumultuous over the century.
In fact, if the House changes hands again, this will be the fifth time the House has changed hands this century.
The House only changed hands twice in the last 50 years of the 20th century.
So we are definitely living in more tumultuous times.
Finally, I want to close a little bit on the absurdity.
It's sort of and I'm going to come at this from my crankiness about.
About politics and about congressional politics, which is, you know, are you trying to pass a bill or are you trying to raise money?
And when the Democrats had their โ and what I want to do is I want to do a little comparison here, right?
The Republicans are trying to shove through this SAVE Act.
It's called the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act.
And it's been boiled down to just this is about voter ID.
It's not about voter ID.
If this were simply about voter ID, like should you have to show voter ID at the polls to get your ballot, which I do in the state of Virginia, quite a few states already mandate this.
Let's say you said that the federal government and that it was just a standalone bill, not you have to produce a birth certificate.
I'm just saying just produce a passport or driver's license or ID before you get your ballot.
You get bipartisan support for that.
But that is not what this bill does.
This bill wants to complicate the ability to even register to vote.
Right.
Look, it's difficult to go get a driver's license and you've got to prove you've got to bring a birth certificate.
