That's exactly what I suggest, Matt.
And, you know, you're not unique amongst parents in having very serious, deep concerns about allowing the children to cycle to school.
For example, roughly about 3% of secondary school children, which are mature children, cycle to school in Ireland.
In the Netherlands, 75% cycle to school.
Dutch parents don't have any concerns about that whatsoever.
Why?
Because they've built the safe routes to schools for all of their children.
And, you know, Cycling Ireland ourselves, we recently carried out our own survey of our own members and we had a very large sample of 2,200 cyclists.
And again, their overarching concern was safety, safety, safety.
In fact, the women who responded to that survey cited safety as the primary reason why they were not cycling more or in some cases leaving cycling altogether.
So what we have to acknowledge is that
investing in safe cycling infrastructure is a wise, sound policy decision.
It's investing in people's health.
It's investing in sustainability.
It's investing in reducing congestion.
And unless we continue to do that to the scale that we have been doing it, very successfully been doing it over the last three to four years, we need to do more, Matt.
OK, let me read some of the comments.
But I also cite places like I cycle regularly.
I pick up a bike on the Dublin Bike Scheme in Houston Station and I cycle into the city centre.
If you now travel around the Quays, certain sections of the Quays, it's a wonderful experience.
