One, there's a food security element to farming and that's why they get these subsidies.
But two, there's a social contract element.
And again, you know, export market and we're talking about, you know, resilience from FDI, food and agribusiness is a really big part of that resilience.
But there's a social contract element here too, right?
So we pay taxes and then you get stuff in return for the taxes.
And I think that what a lot of rural Ireland feels is that it doesn't get the public services in return and partially because, you know, there's population questions to what public services actually happen.
But also, I think they get the kind of the hard side of government, right?
Government regulations are very, I think they find them very strict.
You know, farming regulations have been increased over time.
So I think they feel like they're doing a lot and not getting a lot in exchange.
Yes, this is a really interesting piece.
And it basically says, you know, Fianna Fรกil have really been taking the heat for this because their constituency is kind of closest to the constituency that's quite angry about this.
But that there's a really key question.
I think Leo Radcliffe kind of jumped in and preempted that conversation there.
about Fine Gael and what kind of party it is and how it should respond.
So it was kind of pointing out, you know, is it a rural, you know, tough on crime party?
Or is it kind of a liberal urban elite?
So again, these are these social issues that are and kind of divisions that are emerging.
