The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frye, who has regularly been tangling with President Trump, responded to Homan's press conference today.

Frye says any drawdown of ICE agents is a step in the right direction, but his ask remains the same.

Operation Metro Surge must end, and that's a reference to the ramped-up presence ICE has had in Minnesota.

Walz says Trump agreed to consider reducing the number of immigration enforcement agents in the Twin Cities.

He also says the president would consider ensuring the state could conduct independent investigations into the killings of Alex Preti and Renee Macklin Good.

Walls says Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Greg Bovino and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem will not be returning to the Twin Cities.

There is definitely a more collaborative tone.

I want to make sure that I'm not jeopardizing that, that I'm going to take them for their word right now, that they're going to reduce this force.

So the video shows Alex Preddy in this neighborhood in Minneapolis, a little after nine in the morning.

There was a person who was shoved to the ground.

Preddy appears to be trying to support this person who was shoved to the ground.

And during that, you see a swarm of federal agents approach him.

He has his phone out and then it escalates very quickly.

Federal officials have said that Preti approached agents in a threatening manner with a gun before he was shot and killed by an officer.

But it's very important to note here that video and eyewitness testimony from NPR News dispute that account.
