It was even more wonderful to see that parade.
It was over two and a half hours of celebration of Navy and Marine accomplishments and pride, and especially to see the little kids.
One of the floats had young Marines on.
recreating the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima.
Just really, just touching and exciting.
And as you know, Admiral Masso is working on building a proper museum to the Navy.
Right now, there isn't really a national one that's easily accessible.
So it was Navy all the way.
And Marines were there, of course.
They came in at the end doing the silent drill and stealing the show.
It was great.
And it reminded what many people think of as a continental power, this detached and isolated land, that it's not very detached and it's certainly not very isolated.
And the vulnerable point is definitely the Pacific.
And it has been since the Navy sent out the great exploring expedition in 1838 to track the
make its own navigational maps to track trade routes and basically to say, better to start thinking about the Pacific.
What I particularly liked about that article was... Hang on one second.
So one of the things that I really liked about this, the Real Clear Defense article about the coverage, was it referred to you at the beginning.
It said it was hosted by the program and you contributed your own expertise on naval warfare and history.
And I think that that's
been undervalued.
