A lot of the reaction was like, we're not going to give up from the fans.
We're not going to give up a home game.
Like, why would we give up a home game, you know, to go play Tech at a neutral site?
Personally, as someone who has no affiliation to Texas or Texas Tech, I thought it would be great.
But the Texas fans didn't have any interest in doing it, so...
From a pure entertainment perspective, I mean, opening up with Tech and Dallas would be phenomenal in my mind.
I guess the view from the Longhorns fans is that since they're playing Ohio State the next week or two weeks later, if that game would be scheduled in late August, that they โ
want to be fully ready for Ohio State.
I would rather see Texas opens up against Texas State, which is 30 miles down the road in San Marcos.
I don't think that will be a very competitive game.
So I would rather see, as a neutral, I would much rather see Texas play Texas Tech and Dallas.
But the fans seem okay with not playing Texas State and then going to do Ohio State.
And I guess their argument would be that kind of what Sark's argument was that their schedule is already tough enough playing in the SEC.
That is the impression that I'm under from the Longhorn fans.
I think they are more 16, definitely.
