And it was his birthday and we sang him happy birthday, had the cake in there and the whole bit.
And he's like, I would die for every one of you motherfuckers in here because that's how he talks.
And he's like – and that's what y'all need to be able to say.
Y'all need to look around this room and be willing to die for every motherfucker.
That's what a baseball team takes.
And like that's really so true and he knows that from being in the game for 60 years.
But it's so true and I think that that is where –
front offices get caught up in like everyone's looking at their model.
What do we value as an organization?
What kind of players are we looking for?
Rarely will they make room in the model for all this guy is an awesome speaker.
He's a great teammate.
He's a great communicator.
Every pitcher loves throwing to this guy.
This guy can get a bunt down in a nut cutting situation when you need it.
Like they're not looking for that.
They're looking for the bigger, sexier, broader numbers.
And I think that's where we see things like this slip through the cracks of our game.
