What would happen if you arrived home in a very remote rural place and news has come that you were caught stealing in your boarding school?

And just say you're an only child and just say you're up a long lane in the countryside and your parents are in very remote, live no money.

What happens that night?

And of course, the whole business of the short story is really good at letting nothing much happen, that the great confrontation doesn't occur.

But you have to make that seem right.

You can't just say it didn't occur.

They said nothing.

You have to bring it down slowly.

But yeah, that's absolutely from memory.

But the memory is of just of the event.

What I didn't know, I had to imagine, was what happened to him afterwards.
