And I think two things can be true at the same time.
I think Ireland threw that away.
But I think the way they've kind of handled themselves on the pitch in terms of their kind of effort levels and how they've come across to the public
It just shows how powerful that can be in how we all perceive them.
That the reaction afterwards was kind of sympathy and kind of pride as opposed to what the emailer is saying here.
It's sad, really, isn't it?
Yeah, it is to an extent, but at the same time, like, I've limited sympathy for Tiger Woods.
Like, I think this is part of his story.
You can say something is sad.
But it's as much of a part of his story as the Great Golf.
You know, like, Tiger Woods has a very strange upbringing.
He was bred to become this super athlete, and that is what he became.
A machine.
And clearly, it was at the expense of normal human capabilities that we all have.
Like, when you drive around the place,
on a cocktail of prescription medication or impaired by the judgment of a state trooper the other day, you're taking liberties with other people's lives.
It's not just your own.
So the stuff about, you know, it's sad on Tiger, this is ultimately what you become.
You know what I mean?
Like most of us, when you get older, you realise that you're not the centre of attention, that the world doesn't actually revolve around you because there's other people out there.
