And I met Glenn walking out the door and I was walking into it.
And this was right at the time where the bamboo thing was kind of coming to an end.
And he had just obviously had the fright of his life with COVID as well.
And we were like, honestly, and I'm not joking, I would say it was a 45 second conversation where it was like, will we do this?
Let's do it.
Let's do what?
Let's build an operating system for Heron Beauty.
Is that what you've been kind of spitballing with each other?
Yeah, and it wasn't just each other.
Like in that time, I think we'd profiled 173 different salons.
Because don't forget, Glenn had cycled through different systems.
And I'm obviously the closest thing he has to a tech guy at the time.
So I'm like helping advise.
And they all had the same limitations.
Either it was the world's worst business model that didn't reflect
the business model of a salon so like just margin destroyers a la marketplaces or you had this like old technology that is i don't like talking crap on competitors but like systems of record essentially they digitized the book and they'd put buttons in place that allow you to be able to do some stuff to be able to run your business on but like we knew we knew ourselves
But we also knew our network.
We knew we'd profile, as I said, we profiled 173 salons.
And that went from anything like a coffee and conversation to us working in the salon, to us spending as much time around the different operating systems from hair and beauty to tattoo and piercing, laser hair removal, med spa, barbers.
We wanted to be really sure that this was a problem that's kind of universal and kind of it is.
