I was being beat up.
I was incredibly thin and I was one of the only Chinese families in that town.
And so I got picked on primarily for being Asian.
And I just felt like I never belonged coming from this small town.
And so I would always tell my friends and my family that I was moving to LA or Las Vegas at a very young age.
And people would tell me, oh, you're never going to make it.
There's tons of beautiful girls in LA and Vegas.
You're never going to amount to anything.
And constantly being told that I couldn't do something and constantly being beat up, it just made me who I am today.
I was like, I'm going to prove you wrong.
I saved $3,000 when I was 19 and I just packed up my bags one day and I said, mom, I'm going to Vegas.
Didn't know anybody, moved out here.
I found an apartment, had a blow up mattress, a tiny little TV screen and that was it.
The clothes on my back.
Wow.
But the next day I just hit the strip and I was walking into every retail store, restaurant, just asking for jobs.
And the first day I did that, I got hired at two different jobs.
Yeah.
My first job in Vegas was the Ice Bar.
I've been there.
