So even though the FBI had intercepted their communication to each other, they didn't find the emails threatening, nor did they believe that they hinted at a future terrorist attack. So the emails were never shared with the Pentagon or anyone outside of the Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Sadly, if the task force would have interviewed Nadal's coworkers and superiors, they would have learned about his concerning behavior at the time, and they likely would have intervened, That never happened.
